Hundreds Walk From Bloomingdale to Butler in Honor of 9/11 [VIDEO]

Local officials, residents gather at Butler Park for ceremony of song and prayer after Candlelight Walk.

The Boroughs of and came together for a ceremony to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11 and to remind residents of how the community should stick together, not only in times of need but at all times, as Butler Mayor Robert Alviene said in his remarks, during the annual Candlelight Walk Sunday.

Local officials, including the mayors and councilmembers of both Butler and Bloomingdale, police, fire and emergency responders, gathered at Bloomingdale Borough Hall on Hamburg Turnpike and walked, with glow sticks and American flags, nearly a mile down Butler Main Street to Butler Park Sunday night. After gathering around the war memorial in the center of the park, attendees participated in the ceremony by singing "Amazing Grace," along with the , and "God Bless America" to the music of the
