Kinnelon Parents Group Hopes to Earn Money From Grocery Chain

The Kinnelon Elementary Home and School Association (KEHSA) is asking for local grocery shoppers' help in earning money for and Schools.

KEHSA Co-President Erin Gadhavi sent an email through the school district's textcaster Wednesday asked shoppers to register their Stop & Shop cards in one or both of the schools' names to earn money for the district under the A+ School Rewards Program.

"A+ School Rewards is a simple and easy fundraiser for schools. With A+ School Rewards your school earns points that become cash for your school," according to Stop & Shop's website. The website also said $2.5 million will be awarded to local schools this year.

Tri-Boro Patch reached out to the Butler Stop & Shop's manager, but he said he could not comment due to corporate policy.

"Since our Stop & Shop is local to our area, everyone in can help fundraise for our schools simply by shopping," said Gadhavi. "Once they register their card, their purchases translate into dollars for our schools."

Gadhavi said KEHSA frequently fundraises to benefit the schools, including a donation the group made to purchase Smartboards for every instructional classroom at Kiel and Stonybrook.

To participate in the program, shoppers can register their cards by clicking here or calling 877-366-2668. Registrants interested in having the money benefit the Kinnelon schools should also select "NJ-Kinnelon" on the online registration and select Kiel School, Stonybrook School or both.

The A+ Star Rewards Program is runing from now through March 29.
