Know Your Tri-boro Memorial Day Parade Lineup and More

Five things to know this Friday before Memorial Day.

The tri-boro's annual is coming through all three boroughs on Monday, so we decided to give you a sneak peek at the lineup.

You need to know where to be when the parade gets started on Monday. But that's not all you need to know. Here are five things:

  1. You Need to Know Where the Parade Begins: The parade will begin at 9 a.m. on John Street, between Carey Avenue and High Street, in Butler and proceed down High Street to the Butler Park.
  2. You Need to Know About Upcoming Traffic Delays in Butler: The borough will be upgrading its utilities beginning on Tuesday on Bartholdi Avenue. The police department wants you to know that between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. there could be periodic traffic delays or detours near for the next three weeks until the project is completed. Parking limitations will also be imposed on Bartholdi Avenue, police said.
  3. You Need to Know Time is Almost Up to Register for the BBYC Program: The final in-person registration date for the 2011 season of the recently merged Butler and Bloomingdale junior (grades 1 through 8) football and cheerleading program is approaching on June 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Butler Community Center. You can also register online here. If you register by June 30, cost is $85 for the first child; $75 for the second child and $65 fr the third. After June 30, cost is $95 for the first child; $85 for the second child; and $75 for the third. Instructional football is also offered for ages five and six for $30 per child.
  4. You Need to Know About the Early Getaway Train Schedule With NJ Transit: Beginning at 1 p.m., there will be extra outbound trains scheduled on Friday on the Morris & Essex, North Jersey Coast, Northeast Corridor, Pascack Valley, Raritan Valley and Port Jervis Lines. The extra buses will leave from the Port Authority Bus Terminal on dozens of bus routes beginning at noon.
  5. You Need to Know the Kinnelon BOE Has a Vacancy: The is looking for a new member now that has resigned. The board will be accepting resumes and letters of interest until 3 p.m. next Friday.
