Pupdate: Shelter's Surprise Puppies Nearly Ready for Adoption

Oatmeal may have found a home. Now her litter needs some love.

Remember that shocked shelter volunteers when their thin mother started birthing them and nobody knew she was pregnant? Well we've got an update, rather a "pupdate," on the cookie-named canines.

Tri-Boro Animal Welfare's Butler animal shelter volunteer Patti Panico said the Coonhound mother, Oatmeal, may have found a home and the shelter is working to confirm information on the adoption application. But puppies Peanut Butter, Ginger, Chip and Snickerdoodle are still in need of a home.

Panico said none of the five-week-old puppies have been adopted yet, although they are able to be adopted in about three weeks.
