Question of the Day: Should Kinnelon Have a Stronger Underage Drinking Ordinance?

Everyone has opinions. Patch is the place to share them.

On Thursday, the Kinnelon Council introduced a borough ordinance that would allow underage drinkers who are consuming or are in possession of alcohol on private property to be charged. The first penalty associated with the ordinance, if approved, would be a $250 fine.

Currently, underage drinkers who are consuming or in possession of alcohol on public property, such as on a borough road.

The council agreed to postpone voting on the ordinance for 60 days, giving the public enough time to review the ordinance and ask questions.
