School Safety Could Be Included in Council Update This Week

Bloomingdale Planning Board expected to continue discussion on riverwalk.

Kinnelon Council to Meet

The Kinnelon Council will come together twice this week, first on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for a work session meeting and then again on Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. for a regular council meeting, according to the borough website.

In previous meetings, the council has discussed an ongoing effort with the Kinnelon school district to improve security at the borough schools. As a result of those meetings, the district announced last week that Kinnelon police would be increasing their presence in the schools. A committee made of educational and government leaders wll continue to discuss safety at the schools.

At a Kinnelon Board of Education meeting earlier this month, Superintendent Diane DiGiuseppe also said the district is working on its Full Value curriculum program, with the intention of cultivating a school atmosphere that promotes positive values and safety and not violence. As part of that, parents will receive access and information through the newly updated school website.
