This Week: Schools Kick Off Week of Respect

A look ahead at what's to come on Tri-Boro Patch.

Tri-boro schools will begin a week-long celebration of respect Monday, with many hosting special assemblies and events centered on diversity.

For example, students will all be asked to dress their "Sunday best" Tuesday and practice manners. Teachers will vote on the student who has practiced the most politeness. On Thursday, female students and faculty members will be asked to wear blue and male students and faculty members will wear pink to demonstrate support for those students choosing a Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual or Transgendered (GLBT) lifestyle without harassment, intimidation or bullying.

Butler High's week will be will be finished off with an assembly Friday that includes a presentation by a disabled student and a presentation by a gay student.
