Week in Review: Council Awards Firehouse Bid, Students Learn Respect

A look back at the week's top stories.

It was a in the tri-boro and beyond this week as students observed a Week of Respect. All three school districts had special assemblies and we brought you from the Cassandra's Angel presentation at the Monday.

On Thursday, the Kinnelon Planning Board for Joe Burgis, of Burgis Associates, Inc., to serve as Kinnelon's new town planner. The recommendation has been passed on to the Kinnelon Council who will now consider the appointment.

Bloomingdale's Main Street was Frank the Barber Boulevard Saturday during a special celebration of the life of Frank Halat, a Main Street barber who was and later in April. Halat's grandchildren performed songs and his family and friends participated in the ceremony by placing purple carnations at the base of the sign on Ryerson Avenue.
