Labor Day in the Tri-Boro: What's Open and Closed

Post offices and banks will be closed but restaurants and malls will mostly be open.

A holiday weekend is nearly upon us and with Monday off from work for Labor Day, for many it means an extra day of relaxation.

It also means not everything will be open for regular business. Here are a few things we confirmed will be open or closed in or near the tri-boro:

Post Offices Will be Closed: A postal worker at the confirmed that the post offices in the tri-boro will be closed on Monday.

Banks Will be Closed: Unless you do your banking with TD Bank, banks are closed on Monday.

Libraries Will be Closed: The , and libraries will all be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday.

Several Local Business Will Be Open: Many local businesses will remain open on Monday, particularly food establishments. As far as local diners go, , and will all be open. To find a local business' contact information to see if they are open, check out our Directory here.

Grocery Stores Will be Open: Grocery stores tend to stay open for many national holidays so if you were thinking about stocking up on food in advance, there is no need as both and will be open.

Malls Will be Open: An employee of Willowbrook Mall confirmed the mall will be open on Monday. Most stores will be open during normal hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. To contact specific stores for confirmation of hours, click here.
