Douglas Herbert Lutz, 79, of Inwood, died Nov. 18.
He was a retried Kinnelon police officer and an Army veteran.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arden.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Esther Olsen Lutz, daugthers Donna Ruth Mackey and Susan Carole Greco, and three grandchildren.
In accordinance with his wishes, his body was donated to the West Virginia Human Gift Registry for medical research.
