Edward Decker, 99, WWII Vet, Died Thursday

Decker was a Bronze Star recipient.

Edward M. Decker, 99, of Wayne, died Thursday.

He was born in Butler. 

An Army veteran of World War II, he received an Oak Leaf Cluster Star and a Bronze Star.

Before retiring, he worked for Butler Soft Rubber and the Little Falls Quarry.

He was predeceased by his wife Sophie, daughter Gayla Evans, and brother Arthur.

He is survived by his sisters Joanna Watt, Mary Ellen Eckrich, and Alice Connizzo.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Anthony R.C. Church in Butler.
