17-Year-Old Charged With Drug Possession

Police said marijuana and drug paraphernalia was in plain view in vehicle.

A 17-year-old male from Lebanon was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana 50 grams or less Sunday after police said he was allegedly driving with drug paraphernalia and a small quantity of marijuana in his car in Butler.

said Ptl. Jorge Reyes noticed a blue Volkswagen allegedly operating erratically, swerving in and out of its lane on Route 23 South at 12:37 a.m. Ptl. Reyes stopped the vehicle and was met with the driver.

At that time, police said Ptl. Reyes noticed what appeared to be drug paraphernalia and a small quantity of marijuana in plain view inside the car. Police also said he smelled an odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A roadside investigation was conducted and police said they discovered additional packages of marijuana.

The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Butler police station. His parents picked up him from the police station.
