17-Year-Olds Charged With Marijuana Possession in Kinnelon

The following arrest information was supplied by the Kinnelon Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two 17-year-old Kinnelon men were arrested on Saturday after being charged with possession of marijuana.

According to, Ptl. Mark Ehrenburg stopped the driver of a 2008 Acura on Long Meadow Road for allegedly driving 52 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone. Police said Ptl. Ehrenberg identified the 17-year-old and allegedly noticed his eyes being red and glassed over.

Police said the driver allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana within the past several days and that he and the passenger were removed from the vehicle and that the vehicle was searched.

Police said they found marijuana inside a pack of gum in the passenger’s side door.

Both males were arrested and transported to the Kinnelon police station. They were both charged with possession of marijuana and the driver of the vehicle was issued summonses for possession of a controlled substance in a motor vehicle, violating a provisional license and careless driving. Police said they were released to their parents.
