Accident Leads to DWI Charge for Kinnelon Woman
There was no report of injuries in the incident.
Kinnelon Borough Police report a local woman faces charges including driving while intoxicated following a Sunday night motor vehicle accident on Northgate Road.
Sandra M. Lopez, 51, was arrested on charges of DWI, careless driving and not having motor vehicle insurance.
At 10:45 p.m., police said Sgt. Joseph Napoletano responded to a call of an accident on Northgate Road. Upon his arrival, he reportedly saw a woman sitting behind the wheel of a 2001 Mitsubishi wagon parked on nearby railroad tracks, and according to a police statement, she appeared under the influence of alcohol.

The report said Lopez was asked to perform several field sobriety tests but was arrested when found to be unable to comply.
After being charged, police said Lopez was released pending a court appearance.
