Allegedly Intoxicated Driver Found Sitting in Car at 7-Eleven

Police said marijuana was also found in vehicle.

A 22-year-old Long Valley man was found sitting in his vehicle Sunday at the 7-Eleven at Riverside Square, according to

Police said they also found what they believe to be marijuana in the car.

Colin Wyder was charged with DWI, possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) and possession of a CDS in a motor vehicle.

Police said they found Wyder around 2:18 a.m. after receiving a report of an allegedly intoxicated driver. When police spoke to Wyder, they allegedly noticed signs of intoxication and he was arrested.

Wyder was transported to the police station and his vehicle was impounded. He was released to a family member with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.

  • Nicholas Romano, 21, of West Milford, was issued a summons Wednesday for allegedly speeding, operating an unregistered vehicle and failure to inspect his vehicle. Police said they stopped the vehicle Romano was driving on Glenwild Avenue around 2:43 p.m. for allegedly speeding. He was issued the summons and his vehicle was impounded.
  • Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on upper Glenwild Avenue on Monday where a single vehicle had struck a utility pole. Police said the driver of the vehicle told police that icy road conditions caused him to lose control of the vehicle, slide of the roadway and strike the pole. Police said the male driver, whose name was not released, was uninjured, but that the pole was damaged, with several wires hanging down and electricity out in the area. Butler Power & Light responded and the road was closed until the wires were removed and the pole was fixed. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
