Allegedly Sleeping Driver Arrested for DWI

Police said Oak Ridge woman showed signs of intoxication.

A 47-year-old Oak Ridge woman was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and refusal to submit a breath test Saturday after said a witness had reported her to appear to be sleeping while they followed her from Route 23 South into the Meadtown Shopping Center parking lot.

Julie A. Nolan was identified as the driver after Sgt. Christopher Burns arrived on the scene at 4:20 p.m. when police received the report of the allegedly erratic driver of a 2010 Subaru. When Burns spoke to Nolan, police said she allegedly showed signs of intoxication and during field sobriety tests became uncooperative and did not want to complete the tests.

She was transported to the Kinnelon police station, where police said she continued to be uncooperative and refused to provide breath samples. She was later released with a court summons.
