UPDATE: Man Charged With Murder in Riverdale Stabbing

Man fatally wounded Monday night on Hamburg Turnpike.

A Riverdale man has been charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of Alberto Sierra-Arias Monday night at a Hamburg Turnpike residence in Riverdale, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

Margarito Flores, 38, of Riverdale, has been charged the murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a weapon and hindering one's own apprehension. Judge Stuart Minkowitz set bail at $500,000 with no 10 percent option and Flores was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility Tuesday.

Authorities received a 911 call from a Hamburg Turnpike resident reporting a stabbing Monday night at about 11:50 p.m., according to statement released Tuesday morning by Capt. Jeffrey Paul, a spokesman for Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi.

The Sierra-Arias, 32, was aided and transported by the Pompton Lakes First Aid Squad and the Chilton Memorial Advanced Life Support Unit to Chilton Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the prosecutor's office said.
