Bloomingdale Fire Department Responds to Oven Sparks

Police said sparks came from oven.

and were on the scene Monday where a Macopin Road resident said their oven was sparking.

The fire department arrived at about 5:44 p.m. where it was determined that the sparks were caused by a faulty heating element. According to police, the sparks did not materialize into a fire.

Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on upper Glenwild Avenue Tuesday at 8:20 p.m. where police said the driver of the vehicle said he had lost control of the vehicle on wet pavement in a curve.

The vehicle spun 180 degrees, police said, and ultimately ended up facing north in the southbound lane of the road. The vehicle also struck an embankment.

Police said the driver was uninjured but that the vehicle needed to be towed from the scene because of damage.
