Bloomingdale Man Charged With Drug Possession, Distribution

Motor vehicle stop on Route 23 in Butler leads to multiple charges.

A Bloomingdale man was arrested Friday for alleged possession of marijuana and later apparently admitted to drug distribution following a motor vehicle stop on Route 23 in Butler, police said Monday. 

According to , Ptl. Jarred Schmiedhauser was on patrol on Route 23 and observed a white Pontiac with malfunctioning rear bulbs at 10:33 a.m.

Police said Schmiedhauser performed a motor vehicle stop and was met by the vehicle’s driver, Kevin J. Allegrino, 18.

Police said Schmiedhauser allegedly observed a small amount of marijuana on the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Police also said a more extensive search allegedly revealed a larger quantity of marijuana in the glove box, and a quantity of unlawfully prescribed medication, as well as $2,000 cash.

Allegrino was arrested and transported to the police station. Police said he then allegedly confessed to distributing narcotics for profit.

Police said Allegrino allegedly indicated that he had more drugs at his residence.

Allegrino was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, distributing marijuana, unlawfully possessing prescription medication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Allegrino’s bail was set at $2,500, with additional bail for the Bloomingdale police department set for $5,000 with a 10 percent option.

Police said Allegrino was able to post bail in both boroughs and was released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date. Ptl. Dimitri Clarke, Ptl. Scott Sinopoli and Bloomingdale Police Officer Michael Fatzer assisted in the arrest.

In other arrests

Jason Marion, 29, of Bloomingdale, was arrested on March 8 on warrant charges.

Police said Ptl. George Beyloune observed a black Nissan towing a trailer that allegedly did not have a properly installed license plate.

Beyloune stopped the motor vehicle towing the vehicle, at which point he was met with Marion.

Police said they discovered Marion to allegedly have a warrant out for his arrest from the Butler Municipal Court for $2,500. Marion was arrested and transported to the police department. He was able to post bail and was released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.

Police said Keith Soules and Capt. Ciro Chimento assisted with the arrest.
