Bloomingdale Man Charged With Resisting Arrest

Police said man was engaged in confrontation.

A man was arrested Thursday after police said he resisted arrest following a confrontation with several other young adults.

Nathan Hicks, 23, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a police officer.

responded to an ambulance request on Van Dam Avenue at 2:31 p.m. While police were in the area they were directed to a group of young adults allegedly involved in a confrontation. When police arrived, they were able to separate all of the participants but Hicks.

Hicks allegedly refused the verbal commands of the officers and was arrested. He was transported to the Bloomingdale police station and later sent to the Passaic County jail.

In other arrests, Eliseo Garcia, 36, of Haskell, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Ringwood on Wednesday. According to police, Garcia was operating a motor vehicle on Union Avenue at 3:53 p.m. when he was stopped. Garcia was arrested and transported to the police station. He was able to post bail and was released.
