Bloomingdale Man Allegedly Confesses to Butler Car Burglaries

Police: Robert Lodato allegedly entered several unlocked vehicles near Scott Street.

arrested a man Sunday on motor vehicle burglary charges. This is the this month in Butler.

According to police, the department received a report at around 11:22 p.m. of a suspicious person in the area of Scott Street. Police said the report was filed by a concerned resident who observed the man, later determined to be Robert Lodato,19, of Bloomingdale, allegedly entering unlocked vehicles.

Sgt. Robert Findura, Ptl. Bryan Gordon and Ptl. Victor Scott responded to the scene, where police said they were unable to locate the man.

Police said that several hours later, they received reports from a resident again about the same described person in the neighborhood. Upon arriving at the scene, police said they discovered Lodato to allegedly be the person in question. Police said Det. Colleen Pascale brought Lodato to the police station, where he allegedly confessed to entering several motor vehicles in the neighborhood.

Lodato was charged with burglary and released on his own recognizance with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
