Bloomingdale Man Critically Injured in Car Accident

Man was hit while walking on Main Street Thursday morning.

A man is listed in critical condition after he was a struck by a car on Main Street in Butler Thursday morning, authorities said.

John Anderson, a Bloomingdale resident, was walking behind a box truck that was stopped on Main Street facing west when a 2013 Honda Civic struck him, butler police said.

A 20-year-old female was driving the Civic east on Main Street when the accident occurred, police said.

Butler police received a 911 call about the incident at 10:42 a.m. stating that Anderson was unconscious and bleeding from the head, police said.

Anderson was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police reported. Butler police and the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to the scene.

Police are investigating the incident; charges have not been filed against the driver of the Civic.
