Bloomingdale Man Struck by Off-Duty Pizza Delivery Man, Report Says

Nicolas McKenna, 33, was hit while on Hamburg Turnpike Monday, police said.

An off-duty pizza delivery driver hit a Bloomindale man from behind on Monday night and is now facing motor vehicle charges, police said.

Nicholas McKenna, 33, was hit by the passenger’s side mirror of the gray 2005 Mazda Justin Ngo, 20, was driving, NJ.com reported.

McKenna was knocked into a snow bank, the report stated. Police responded to the scene at 9:22 p.m. after they received a report of a hit-and-run crash involving pizza delivery car and a pedestrian, Sgt. James Macintosh told the website. He declined medical treatment after the crash.

Ngo, a Mountain Lakes resident, turned himself to police later that night; he told officers he didn’t know that his vehicle had struck someone, the report states.

Ngo was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving, Macintosh said.
