Bloomingdale Police Find Missing Teen

located a 16-year-old who was reported missing by his parents Sunday on Main Street in Butler.

According to police, Ptl. Marc Loveland took a missing juvenile report after the parents went to police headquarters and told police that sometime during the night before, their 16-year-old son had left their home. Police said after they entered the son into the system as a missing person, they also completed a local police radio broadcast.

Sgt. Mark Johnson located the 16-year-old a few hours later, police said, as a result of information from the parents and friends. Police said the teen was not injured and was safely returned to his parents.

  • A Passaic County salt truck became disabled on Hamburg Turnpike Wednesday at about 7:09 p.m., causing police to block off the westbound lane of traffic for about an hour. Police said Ptl. Michael Fatzer and Ptl. Daniel Fletcher responded, as the driver said he was unable to move the truck. Police said a Passaic County mechanic responded to the scene and found that an oil line had ruptured and fixed the vehicle at the scene.
  • Police responded to a Macopin Road home Saturday at about 9:48 p.m., where a resident reported a suspicious incident. According to police, the resident had just returned home and found two unknown males in the driveway. Police said upon the resident attempting to make contact with the males, they both fled the scene. Police said the resident was not able to provide a detailed description of the males and that it is unclear why they were in the resident's driveway at this point.
  • Michael Beam, 54, of Butler, was arrested by and transported to Bloomingdale Saturday on an outstanding warrant out of Bloomingdale. Police said at 12:47 p.m. Sgt. Mark Johnson was contacted by Wayne police about the arrest in their jurisdiction. Beam was transported to the Bloomingdale police department and allegedly unable to post bail. Police said Beam was transported to the Passaic County jail by Ptl. Marc Loveland and Ptl. David Terpstra.
  • Steven Brown, 18, of Riverdale, was arrested Thursday on an outstanding warrant out of Pequannock Township. Police said they stopped Brown's vehicle on Main Street near Union Avenue at about 4:08 p.m. Brown was arrested and transported to the police station where police said he was able to post bail and was released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
