Bloomingdale Will Purchase New Police Radios with Donation

The department will purchase new radios and a base station with $35,000 gift.

An anonymous donation of more than $34,000 means the Bloomingdale police department can upgrade its radio communication system.

The council adopted an ordinance appropriating the donation to fund the upgrade, NorthJersey.com reported.

The donation will pay for a new $3,000 base station at the police station, 19 portable radios that cost $1,000 each, and a $10,000 repeater. The fire chief and Department of Public Works will be given mobile radios as well.
