A 15-year-old Bloomingdale boy suffered “extensive injuries” to his left hand and burns to his face and shoulder after he ignited a firework earlier this month, police said.
Officers Vincent Graziosa and Marc Loveland and Sgt. Robert Ressland responded to a Van Dam Avenue residence because the teenager was injured, police said.
The boy, police said, found several fireworks that belonged to a family member and ignited one.
Other fireworks at the residence were turned over to the Passaic County Bomb Squad, police said.
