Boy Seriously Injured in Christmas Day ATV Crash

A 15-year-old Florida boy sustained serious injuries to both legs and was airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital.

A 15-year-old boy visiting family in Kinnelon was seriously injured in an ATV accident on Christmas day, according to borough police.

The Florida boy was injured when the ATV he was riding flipped onto its side on Miller Road, tossing the 15-year-old into a utility pole. 

“The victim sustained serious injuries to both legs and was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital,” according to Kinnelon Police Sgt. Joseph C. Napoletano.

The boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, Napoletano said on Thursday.

Kinnelon Sgt. Christopher Burns is investigating the incident, police said.
