Branchville Woman Arrested on Marijuana Charges

A Branchville woman was arrested on marijuana charges in Monday after police said they stopped the vehicle she was a passenger in on Route 23 for having a cracked windshield.
Kendrea Devine, 22, was charged with possession of marijuna, possession of drug paraphernalia and issued a summons for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
According to , the vehicle was stopped at 3:38 p.m. by Ptl. Keith Kelly who spoke to the driver of the 2000 Honda, Michael Smith, 21, of Wantage. Police said Kelly allegedly smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana and upon questioning Smith and Devine, both admitted to using marijuana in the car previously. Police said a search of the vehicle revealed a wooden box containing marijuana and a pipe used to smoke marijuana. Police also said Devine allegedly stated that the marijuana and pipe were hers.

She was arrested and transported to the Kinnelon police station. She was later released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
