Burglaries Double in Butler From 2009 to 2010

The Federal Bureau of Investigation releases crime statistics for 2010.

The number of burglaries in more than doubled from 2009 to 2010, according to information released Monday by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Data from the Uniform Crime Reports shows there were 33 burglaries reported in 2010, compared to 15 reported incidents in 2009.

Crime overall has fluctuated in the borough, according to the reports. Violent crime has only increased by five incidents, while forcible rape incidents decreased by one. There were four robberies reported in 2010, while there was only one reported in 2009. Aggravated assault, property crime and motor vehicle theft increased in the borough.
