Butler Councilman in Alleged Road Rage Incident

Police said they were unable to determine who 'primary aggressor' was in the incident.

Councilman Sean McNear was involved in what called a “road rage” incident on Route 23 North near on Saturday morning.

Patrolman George Beyloune responded to the scene and spoke with McNear, 44, who police said was the driver of one vehicle, and Steven Meyers, 45, of Towaco, who was driving another vehicle. Police said both drivers said there was an alleged incident of inappropriate driving between them on Interstate 287 and that they continued to drive on to Route 23.

Police said both drivers reported they exchanged several inappropriate gestures and comments, after which the vehicles collided into each other. Both drivers also said the incident was caused by the opposite driver, police said.
