Butler Police Release New Details on Valley Road Car Burglaries

Butler man faces several charges after he allegedly committed fraud and theft.

 have released new details on an alleged car burglar from Butler.

Peter Derosso, 36, after police said he was questioned and later confessed to several car burglaries on Valley Road. During the investigation, police said Derosso allegedly confessed to committing the burglaries to pay off his drug supplier.

Now, police have said that Derosso was also allegedly discovered to have issued a fraudulent check for $250 to a taxi company and allegedly stole a vehicle that was later discovered in Wayne Township.

Police said they conducted a “pain staking search” for the vehicle, according to a release sent out by the department. During the investigation, police said they also suspected Derosso’s involvement in several motor vehicles being stolen in the area of Valley Road. Police said Derosso confessed to several open cases.

He was charged with burglary, theft and theft of a motor vehicle. Derosso’s bail was set at $50,000, with no 10 percent option, for the burglary and theft charges and an additional $2,500 bail, with no 10 percent option, for the forgery and bad check charges.

Police said Derosso was unable to post bail and was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
