Butler to House Morris County Decontamination Unit

Unit to be stored at Butler Fire Department.

The has agreed to store a decontamination unit owned by Morris County at the garage for the next two years.

The Butler Council approved a resolution for the agreement at Monday's meeting after Borough Administrator James Lampmann told the council the borough has the space for the unit.

Lampmann said the unit is used throughout the county and will be pulled out from the Butler garage when needed for hazardous material spills and set up by the town using the unit on location. He added that the municipalities using the unit will be billed by the county for their use, including disposing of the waste.

"This is good for us to have this piece of equipment in house," he said.
