87-Year-Old Man Injured in Kinnelon Road Crash

Power restored after pole brought down power lines when struck.

Kinnelon Road, near South Glen Road, was closed Monday afternoon after an 87-year-old driver crashed into a pole on the road.

Kinnelon police Lt. John Schwartz said the driver, a Kinnelon resident, became dizzy while driving, lost control of his 2000 Dodge pickup truck and crashed into the pole. His car sustained heavy front end damage and the telephone pole was snapped in half around 1:45 p.m.

"Wires were lying across the roadway," Schwartz said.
