Cops: Man Threw Beer Cans Into Butler Intersection

The following arrest information was supplied by the Butler Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An Arch Street resident was arrested in Sunday after said he allegedly was throwing empty beer cans into the roadway at the intersection of Arch Street and Main Street.

Jose Hernandez, 29, was charged with disorderly conduct.

Police responded at 7:16 a.m. and allegedly saw Hernandez disposing of empty beer cans in the middle of the intersection. Police said he appeared to be heavily intoxicated and he was asked to halt, but allegedly became hostile to the police officers.

He was arrested and transported to the Butler police station. Hernandez was later released in his own recognizance after police said enough time had passed that he was able to care for himself.

  • Giovanni Montagna, 20, of Paterson, was arrested on an active warrant for $80 out of Paterson in Butler on Sunday. According to police, Montagna was stopped while driving on Route 23 after a routine license plate check on the black Honda he was driving on Route 23 North revealed the warrant at about 9:33 a.m. Montagna was arrested and transported to the Butler police station. He posted bail and was released in his own recognizance.
  • Alan Dlugo, 50, of Hackensack, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Bloomfield for $175 in Butler Sunday. According to police, Dlugo was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a motor vehicle accident around 2:25 p.m. at the intersection of Kiel Avenue and Decker Road and while investigating the accident, police allegedly discovered the warrant. Police said Dlugo was arrested and transported to the Butler police station. He was able to post bail and was released in his own recognizance with a date to appear in Bloomfield Municipal Court.
