Cops: Riverdale Man Stole Credit Card

Police discovered warrants after learning man's real name.

A Riverdale man was allegedly discovered with a stolen credit card on Hamburg Turnpike last week, according to .

Marlon Defreese, 22, was charged with hindering apprehension and credit card theft on July 16 after he was arrested on Hamburg Turnpike. He also was found to have several warrants out for his arrest, police said, and was transported to the Passaic County jail by the West Milford Police Department after being unable to post bail.

Police said they responded to a report of a dispute on Hamburg Turnpike around 5 p.m. and Defreese allegedly identified himself as "Marlon Milligan." After an investigation, police said they discovered that he had allegedly used a false name and that he had several warrants out of Riverdale and West Milford for his arrest.

Also during the investigation, police said they found a credit card in Defreese's possession. After contacting the cardholder, police said they learned that the credit card had allegedly been stolen.
