Man Flees After Failed Burglary Attempt, Cops Say

Police said man did not get into the targeted home and nothing was stolen.

An unknown man reportedly attempted to break into a Bloomingdale home last Wednesday morning on Reeve Avenue, according to Bloomingdale Police.

At about 10:30 a.m., officers were called to the scene after getting a report of an attempted residential burglary, Ptl. Dan Fletcher said.

The home's resident said he heard someone attempting to open the locked front door and then saw a man walk around to the back of the building, where he reportedly tried to open an also-locked rear door. The resident said he saw the person leave driving a gray sport utility vehicle that had been parked in the driveway, Fletcher said.
