Cops: Woman Drunk When SUV Hit Pole, Flipped

A Newfoundland woman was allegedly drunk when her vehicle struck a utility pole and flipped over early Saturday morning on Kiel Avenue, said.

Alyssa M. Post, 22, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and failing to drive within a single lane.

According to a report released Tuesday, Sgt. Robert Findura and Patrolman Scott Sinopoli responded to the accident Saturday at about 2:20 a.m. Post's 2009 Toyota RAV was found overturned after it struck a utility pole, police said.

Post showed signs of intoxication, police said. She was transported to Morristown Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Post was released to the hospital, pending a Butler Municipal Court appearance.
