Deer Killed, Severely Damages Vehicle in Bloomingdale

Vehicle suffered extensive damage and had to be towed from Main Street accident scene.

A deer severely damaged a vehicle it attempted to leap over on Main Street Thursday, Bloomingdale police said.

The driver of the vehicle said she saw a deer run across Main Street in Bloomingdale from Reeve Avenue. She avoided a collision with a second deer that followed the first, police said.

The second deer attempted to leap over the front of the vehicle and struck the windshield, hood, and roof, police said.

The vehicle received “extensive damage” and had to be towed. The driver suffered a small injury to her finger and declined medical attention.

The deer died as a result of the accident.
