Drunken Woman's Clothes Were Backwards, Cops Say

A Kinnelon woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police said she was driving erratically on Route 23 Thursday, concerning other drivers, and had her clothing on inside out and backwards when her vehicle was stopped.

Petrina Horvath, 46, had a blood alcohol concentration of .21 percent when she was arrested and also charged with failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving and operating with a fractured windshield, according to Butler police Capt. Ciro Chimento.

Chimento said police received a call at 11:14 p.m. from another concerned motorist about Horvath's driving. Sgt. Keith Soules, Ptl. Jarred Schmiedhauser and Ptl. Dimitri Clarke responded to find Horvath driving a gray Jeep Commander "in an erratic manner," Chimento said.

When her vehicle was stopped, Chimento said Clarke smelled alcohol on Horvath's breath and observed that her clothing was not on right. During field sobriety tests, Chimento said Horvath nearly fell over several times.

She was arrested and transported to the Butler police station. Horvath was later released to a friend and is scheduled to appear in Butler Municipal Court at a later date. 

Passaic County Sheriffs Det. Jason Ekkers assisted with the arrest.
