Fire Dept. Responds to Oven Fire, Man Arrested on DWI Charges

Bloomingdale police said fire was put out before they arrived.

The and Police Department responded to a call of an oven on fire on Sandra Lane Wednesday at 8:38 p.m. 

Once they arrived on the scene, police said the resident had already put the fire out themselves.

Forty-five-year-old Eloy Cruz, of Haskell, was arrested on DWI charges Tuesday after police said he was stopped at midnight on Union Avenue.

Police said Cruz allegedly displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested and transported to the police station. He was charged with DWI, failure to keep right and for allegedly being an unlicensed driver.

He was released to a family member with a summons and his vehicle was impounded.
