Five Bags of Crack Cocaine Seized in Butler Arrest

Police said Hamburg man was also found in possession of two pipes with residue.

A 49-year-old Hamburg man was arrested on drug charges Sunday after said he was found to be in possession of five bags of suspected crack cocaine and two glass smoking pipes with residue on them.

Gary Courtright was charged with possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Courtright was the passenger in a 1997 Oldsmobile that was driving on Route 23 North at 8:27 p.m. when police stopped the vehicle for a cracked windshield. When speaking to the occupants of the vehicle, police said they gave conflicting accounts of their activities of Sunday night.

Police conducted a roadside investigation and found the suspected drugs.

Courtright was transported to the Butler police station and later released in his own recognizance with a date to appear in court.
