Four Charged With Criminal Mischief After Mailboxes Damaged by Bat

Police said marijuana was also found.

Four individuals were charged with criminal mischief on April 10 after said they allegedly damaged mailboxes with a baseball bat on Cutlass Road and Fayson Lakes Road.

Police said they responded to Cutlass Road at 5:33 pm. where it was reported that a black Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was seen with the occupants allegedly damaging the mailboxes. Police said they found an SUV that matched the vehicle’s description on Boonton Avenue. The vehicle was stopped and police spoke with the driver, Jacob Nadler, 18, of Kinnelon. There were also two juveniles in the vehicle, police said.

Police said they also saw a metal baseball bat with paint transfer on it in the back of the vehicle. It was determined that the occupants were allegedly responsible for the mailbox damage and that another juvenile was allegedly responsible who had been dropped off at their home. Police said they also found a glass pipe with marijuana inside during the investigation.

Nadler and one of the juveniles were charged with criminal mischief, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia while the other two juveniles were charged with criminal mischief. Nadler was released with a date to appear in court and the juveniles were released to their parents.
