Heroin Wrapped in Underwear Found in Car on Rt. 23, Cops Say

Police said driver admitted to being arrested previous day for heroin posession.

Two West Milford residents were arrested after police said they were found with 15 folds of suspected heroin and two loaded hypodermic needles on Route 23 Wednesday.

Michael J. Hamilton, 23, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Morris County jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. Olivia Perez, 20, the driver of the vehicle the suspected heroin was seized from, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and issued a summons for having a loud muffler. She was released with a date to appear in court.

stopped the vehicle, a 1996 Honda, at about 1 p.m. on Route 23 North. According to police, Perez allegedy appeared nervous and showed signs of drug use, admitting that she and her passenger, Hamilton, were arrested the previous day on heroin possession charges.

Police allegedly observed drug parapheranlia inside the vehicle and searched the car. Two hypodermic needles loaded with suspected heroin were found under the rear passenger seat, police said, and 15 folds of suspected heroin were found wrapped in a pair of underwear in the front passenger side of the car.

Perez and Hamilton were arrested and transported to the Kinnelon police station.
