Woman Arrested for DWI With Minor in Vehicle

Butler Police arrested Hewitt resident on Saturday.

A Hewitt woman was arrested in Butler on Saturday on DWI charges with a minor in the vehicle.

According to , Kim M. Sushko, 49, was pulled over in a blue Jeep Grand Cherokeeon Route 23 after police conducted a random license plate inquiry, which showed that her license had been suspended. 

Police said that Sushko allegedly had difficulty producing driving credentials and allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath.

Police said she failed a series of field sobriety tests and was arrested. Police also said Sushko had a juvenile passenger in the vehicle who was taken into protective custody.

According to police, Sushko allegedly tested as having a blood alcohol concentration of .23 percent.

Sushko was charged with driving under the influence, operating a motor vehicle while suspended, operating an unregistered vehicle, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without headlights while wipers are in use and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a minor present. She was released to a family member and scheduled to appear in court.

Police said Ptl. Jorge Reyes conducted the arrest, with assistance from Sgt. Keith Soules, Ptl. Scott Sinopoli and the Riverdale and police departments.
