Hurricane Sandy Updates Available Through Bloomingdale OEM

Bloomingdale officials warn residents of heavy winds and rain.

The Bloomingdale Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will be keeping watch over Hurricane Sandy's progress as it is expected to strike New Jersey this week and is offering residents several resources to stay informed.

"The storm is expected to bring heavy winds, rain and the potential for flooding," a press release sent by the department said. "Emergency crews will be ready and placed on standby as the storm progresses."

Police will be contacting residents with Bloomingdale OEM information through the Swift Reach 9-1-1 reverse telephone system. Residents can sign up to receive the phone call notifications here.

Residents wishing to contact police are asked to call 973-838-0158 for all non-emergency calls.

Additionally, the police department has referred residents to the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management website and Red Cross hurricane safety checklist website for more information on staying safe during and after the storm.
