Kinnelon, Butler Police Officers Honored for Saving Man's Life

Police worked together to save a man who stabbed himself multiple times in the neck earlier this month.

Kinnelon and Butler police officers were honored recently for saving man who stabbed himself several times in the neck last February.

Several officers were honored at Kinnelon Council meeting Jan. 16. Kinnelon Officers Melissa Huizenga and Matthew Solari and Butler Sgt. Keith Soules and Officer Dimitri Clarke received Police Life Saving Awards, NorthJersey.com reported. Butler police were called in to assist Kinnelon officers at the scene.

The man was airlifted from the Kinnelon High School athletic field to Hackensack University Medical Center. Kinnelon police requested he be airlifted from that location in order to get him to a hospital quickly.
