Kinnelon Man Charged With Drug Posession

Police said they allegedly found a small quantity of marijuana in man's possession.

arrested a Kinnelon man Sunday on drug possession charges when a small quantity of marijuana was allegedly found in his vehicle following a motor vehicle stop.

Brendan Pontidis, 21, was driving a 1994 red Subaru on Route 23 South around midnight when police stopped him for operating with an obstructed view. Upon further investigation, Ptl. Jared Schmiedhauser said he smelled an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and later allegedly found a small quantity of marijuana.

Pontidis was arrested and transported the police station. He was issued a ticket to appear in court at a later date.

James T. Calogero, 46, of Warwick, was arrested on Thursday after police said there were several warrants out for his arrest out of Newark and West Milford.

Police responded to a report of a minor accident in the Bank of America parking lot on Route 23 in Butler. Upon arriving at the scene, police spoke to Calogero, the operator of one of the vehicle, and discovered his driver's license had been suspended in the state of New Jersey. Police said they also then discovered a warrant out of West Milford Municipal Court for $113 and a warrant out of Newark Municipal Court for $300.

Calogero was arrested and transported to the police station and was charged with driving with a suspended license. Police said he was able to make bail and was released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
