Kinnelon Police Investigating Stolen GPS

A woman said her Garmin GPS was no longer in her vehicle after leaving it there the previous night.

are investigating an alleged car burglary that occurred on Feb. 6. According to police, Sgt. Joseph Napoletano responded to a report of a motor vehicle burglary on Monarch Way. Upon further investigation, police said the victim reported that her 2009 Honda had been parked outside her home on Feb. 5, and that upon returning to her car the following afternoon, she noticed her Garmin GPS was missing.

Police said the GPS unit is valued at $150.

In other arrests, Tony J. Harrell, 23, of Prospect Park, was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said Harrell was operating a 1994 Mercedes wagon when he was stopped on Kinnelon Road for allegedly having an overdue inspection sticker. Police said that upon speaking to Harrell, they could allegedly see that he was nervous.

Police said Harrell could not provide a license or any other paperwork for the vehicle. Upon further investigation, police said they allegedly found a hypodermic needle on his person. Police also said an investigation of the vehicle lead them to find two metal caps containing cotton balls with a white residue believed to allegedly be heroin.

Harrell was arrested and transported to the Kinnelon police station He was issued a summons, in addition to his charges, for failure to produce documentation, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with overdue inspection and possessing a controlled substance in a motor vehicle. He was released with a scheduled date to appear in court.
