Man Allegedly Had Marijuana, Grinder In Car

Police said man was stopped on Route 23 South for allegedly speeding.

Nineteen-year-old Robert L. Polye, of Green Pond, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and DWI on Nov. 22 after police said he was allegedly driving with marijuana.

In addition to the above charges, Polye was charged with possession of marijuana, use of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and having tinted windows.

According to Ptl. Rickey Ferriola had stopped the 2005 Volkswagen Polye was driving at 12:03 p.m. for allegedly speeding on Route 23 South. Police said Polye allegedly had a smell of alcohol on his breath and had glassy, bloodshot eyes.

Police said Ptl. Ferriola also allegedly noticed marijuana on the floor of the vehicle. When asked about the marijuana, police said Polye admitted to having marijuana in the car. A search of the vehicle led Ptl. Ferriola to find a marijuana grinder and pipe, police said.

Polye was arrested and transported to the Kinnelon police station. He was released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
