Allegedly Sleeping Man Arrested on Drug Charges at Quick Chek

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bloomingdale Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on Friday on drug possession charges after police said he was found asleep in a parked vehicle at at 7:58 p.m.

Police said Sgt. Michael Boffa responded and found John Sisco, 22, asleep and when speaking to him after he woke up, Sgt. Boffa allegedly observed signs of use of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. A search of the vehicle revealed Sisco to allegedly be in possession of several prescription pills, although police said Sisco did not have a prescription. 

Sisco was arrested and transported to the Bloomingdale police station where he was charged with possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances and use of Controlled Dangerous Substances. Police said Sisco was able to post bail and was released with a scheduled court date. Ptl. Daniel Fletcher and Ptl. Steven Smith assisted with the arrest.

  • Police are investigating a criminal mischief report of a damaged mailbox on Vreeland Avenue. Police responded on March 25 at 11:06 a.m. According to police, a resident told Sgt. Robert Ressland that an unknown actor had knocked their mailbox off its post the previous night. Police said the resident did not see or hear anything unusual. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 973-838-0158.
  • A West Milford man was arrested on a warrant in Bloomingdale on Thursday. According to police, Mark Messineo, 44, was stopped while driving on Glenwild Avenue at 8:46 a.m. Police said he was found to have an outstanding warrant from the Borough of Lodi. Messineo was arrested and transported to the Bloomingdale police station where he posted bail and was released. He was also issued a summons for having an expired inspection sticker.
